Artist Biography

Marcie Hart has been involved in creating dolls both in clay and cloth for the past 15 years. Her years working in various mediums such as painting, textiles and design to name just a few have all contributed in one way or another to her doll-making process.

Marcie's dolls have been featured in Dolls ( the collector's magazine) and Contemporary Doll Collector Magazine, "Fresh Faces" & "Debut" sections. They have also been in local and national art galleries and shops.

Her doll "Digger and the Garden Thieves" is also featured in Susanna Oroyan's book, Designing The Doll.

Marcie was also one out of six Idaho artists to be chosen to represent Idaho in the 1998 White House Blue Room Christmas Tree by President and Mrs. Clinton.

The following quote is a favorite of Marcie's representing the love that she has for the art form:

"It is art that makes life

makes interest

makes importance

and I know of no substitute

for the force and beauty of its process…"

-Henry James
